Korean Military (Hoax)[edit]

Hi, recently there was a Korean military thing where all people of any race of any citizen of any country has to go to the Korean military as long as their grandfather, or their father was a citizen of Korea. I have been discussing this problem with people I know from Korea, and recently I've been seeing it as a hoax, and if its not a hoax, it is escapable. Is this possible, the truth, and how so?

I was told that the Korean military/government was told that because a hacker changed the government, and the Koreans are common users of technology and most likely did not look at the actual written down piece of paper.

Can anyone support this? I'd rather stay in America and help the American government army for four years rather than help the Korean army for two years getting paid only 25 dollars per month, when I could be using my education for medical uses, or to support the American government, in which I could also live in a better environment (at least in my opinion). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thecutnut (talkcontribs) 07:08, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Important notice[edit]

The government section of the "Outline of South Korea" needs to be checked, corrected, and completed -- especially the subsections for the government branches.

When the country outlines were created, temporary data (that matched most of the countries but not all) was used to speed up the process. Those countries for which the temporary data does not match must be replaced with the correct information.

Please check that this country's outline is not in error.

If you have any questions or comments, please contact The Transhumanist .

Thank you.
