This article needs more sources to assert its claim to notability. I believe that it is wholly notable given the source now on the page, but more need to be introduced so that it can be a more comprehensive discussion of the topic. Mrathel (talk) 20:24, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In Carl Zimmer's book At the Water's Edge he notes that scientists at the time of writing (1999) believed that dolphin blubber and the subdermal sheath acted as a spring to conserve energy. The book is about macroevolution and Zimmer uses dolphins as a cogent example of such evolution. I was considering adding it to the article, but I'm not sure how appropriate a source it would be. It would probably be better to add where he sourced it from. Then again, it does add notability since it is a "fairly" popular book. If there is consensus to add something of the sort, I will do so. If no one says anything by... let's say the beginning of June, I probably add it anyway.Dlpolanco (talk) 03:56, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
