A word of thanks

I would just like to thank everybody who contributed something to this topic. I am an admirer of Schulz' Peanuts, the best comic strip in the world. I found all the information here very interesting and funny; also, I am always both touched and happy when I come across the Great Pumpkin stories - they are so incredibly human ...

Snoopy

What about that one time Linus finally saw the Great Pumpkin, even though it was really Snoopy? —Ashley Y 00:53, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

What about it? He saw Snoopy, not the Great Pumpkin. Go to my user page if you want to see the lost information on the holiday of Pule! 15:30, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:GreatPumpkin.jpg

Image:GreatPumpkin.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 00:05, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Sally

Aside from the famous 1962 story arc which was adapted as It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and the final 1999 strip, did Sally really appear with Linus in the pumpkin patch more often than anyone else? I recall that Marcie and Snoopy both accompanied him more than once.Rockhopper10r 18:58, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Yes. I have a book collection of numerous Peanuts strips that occur around Halloween. Sally sits in the Pumpkin patch on Halloween night in many of them. I think Marcie only went with him once, and Snoopy, only a couple of times.Feats-O-Strength 12:54, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Other Great Pumpkins

It says that orange is a primary color. It is not. Fail. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.203.179.229 (talk) 09:15, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

Roy Brown

What”s with the link to Roy Brown, and the bit about Snoopy in his “Roy Brown flying ace outfit”? Sure Roy Brown fought the Red Baron, as Snoopy dreams he does on his dog house, but so did many other pilots. And his “outfit” is a flying-helmet scarf and goggles - standard issue for any pilot of the day, and surely Brown wore more? As Snoopy is nowhere identified at playing at being Brown, and is always just said to be a “WWI Flying Ace”, I think the reference cannot be justified, and should be removed.Jock123 (talk) 16:38, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

Comic Strip vs Speical

In the Comic strip Version is different from the special in that Charlie Brown gets candy-instead of rocks-on trick or treating {he gives some to Linus. {Also an early Sunday Comic strip showed that it was Linus-not Charlie Brown-whose custume has too many holes in it!} — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.83.72.154 (talk) 15:21, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
