Sacandaga Lake vs. Great Sacandaga Lake[edit]

This article needs a companion article about the original Sacandaga Lake, near Speculator. This is about the reservoir. Don Argus jr (talk) 01:58, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Probably not, since it wouldnt be notable or have enough information to make it worth creating. Having any information about the original lake incorporated into this article would be just fine.Camelbinky (talk) 19:53, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Some expansion, some refs fixed, clarifications... one cite needed, can't find.LanceBarber (talk) 05:52, 16 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Don Argus jr, just to avoid confusion. Article created. Peter Flass (talk) 13:32, 25 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Where is the Conklingville Dam?[edit]

This article was confused, saying Day but linking to Hadley. I suspect the dam links the two communities? Peter Flass (talk) 13:35, 25 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It straddles the border, so it's basically on the border, but the road going on it goes into Hadley when it enters the dam, in the middle enters Day, briefly reenters Hadley, then exits the dam in Day, it's very confusing.--JJBers (talk) 10:45, 26 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Etymology[edit]

Without source. "The Sacandaga River ... Its name comes from the Native American Sa-chen-da'-ga, meaning 'overflowed lands'". Wikipedia.--Manfariel (talk) 03:31, 31 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I read that somewhere too, probably could find a source. Peter Flass (talk) 10:53, 31 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
