Obsolete

Didn't it lost officiality after the transition to democracy?

---NO, it didn't. SOURCE * Comarca del Gran Bilbao. It's official, from the Biscay Government (Bizkaiko Foru Aldundia]. It's one of Biscay's official regions. It's not a political entity, but an organizational one for transport, economy and regeneration plans.David 13:53, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I have removed links created by user 83.213.42.181, they do not belong in this article, it's all right to place them in each town's article but not here. On top of that, the very same links were placed in Biscay...this is suspectfull...I have checked the linked pages and they look very commercial to me. Maybe it's a case of spam. If it is not the case, I request the anonymous user to respond here, if he doesn't I will have to remove the only link left in Portugalete. Otherwise, you can place the other links in Barakaldo and Santurtzi. David 13:36, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't it be moved to 'Greater Bilbao'?

[edit]

I say because Gran Bilbao (es) and Bilbo Haundia (eu) are co-official, both meaning Greater Bilbao. Also for the sake of clarity in English, as has been done with Biscay, etc., using the English name when it exists. --Sugaar 15:49, 11 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Division

[edit]

I think this article should be divided into two: one with this very same name for the comarca del Gran Bilbao, which is one of the comarcas of Biscay, and other referring to Bilbao's metropolitan area. Both things are similar, but not the same. Greater Bilbao is a comarca, an administrative division of Biscay that includes Bilbao and other municipalities. Bilbao's metropolitan area includes all the municipalities from Greater Bilbao plus some others, so I bealive it would be better if we split the article into two different ones. Greetings.--Metroxed (talk) 15:49, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No answer yet. I am going to wait a little bit longer, if I still get no answer, then I'll proceed to divide the article.--Metroxed (talk) 11:41, 7 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
