This is ridiculous, needs far more work. Look at the topic pertaining to Roman Britain, the Brits had a minimal influence on the composite culture of Rome, yet the Greeks were basically the foundation of Roman Culture, the disparity in the size of the two articles is absurd.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.138.3.186 (talkcontribs)

Well, instead of criticizing, why don't you do something to improve the article? It will certainly not write itself... Be bold!! --Michalis Famelis (talk) 17:07, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Later Roman Empire[edit]

2nd paragraph: references Romulus Augustulus (475-476 CE), but then discusses Stilicho (359-408). Looks like you meant Arcadius, and not Augustulus? Also, when you say that Stilicho drove "him" out (meaning Alaric was driven out of Greece?), then Alaric becomes magister militum in Illyricum (driven out to become top commander of Greece+?) is inconsistent. Could you please clarify? Much appreciated!! QAallday (talk) 04:09, 29 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I think I know what happened... I think Illyricum should be Iberia. Dear Author, if you agree, please correct. I don't want to correct your work in case I have misunderstood. QAallday (talk) 16:10, 29 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I see that I am wrong about Illyricum. Still confusing that Stilicho drove Alaric out of Greece, then became top commander of Illyricum, which included Greece.
This website says that "Then in the spring of A.D. 397 Stilicho intervened again. He landed in the Peloponnese and confronted Alaric in Elis. There was some fighting, perhaps only make-believe. In any case, Stilicho came to some agreement with Alaric and allowed him again to go free as in Thessaly. It seems that the eastern government intervened, and an arrangement was made that Alaric should withdraw to Epirus and should receive the title which he had long coveted, that of Master of Soldiers in Illyricum. Stilicho’s expedition was futile."
