Wealth

[edit]

Would some user please explain to me the purpose of such a section? Such housing is not at all notable when considering the number of similar communities across the United States of America, especially being that those communities' wikipaedia articles do not have "wealth" sections. 157.252.146.251 (talk) 02:09, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I would say, maybe a Controversy section would be better. This could be part of it. Above comment was made one month before https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010_flash_crash lol — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.138.224.239 (talk) 23:41, 26 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Flag Image

[edit]

Can someone find an image for the flag that looks significantly less crummy? Sir William Matthew Flinders Petrie | Say Shalom! 08:27, 21 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That one appears to have been swiped from this image based on the lighting. Sir William Matthew Flinders Petrie | Say Shalom! 08:32, 21 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Any luck? I appreciated your offering to help! Link to Wikiproject Connecticut seals & flags project Best, Markvs88 (talk) 19:51, 21 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure it's really offering help as I have no skills with image editing. Rather... err... trying to make sure the article for town of our countryhouse looks nice? I cannot find more than two different images of the Greenwich flag. Looks like someone needs to make the image from scratch with the Town's permission. Sir William Matthew Flinders Petrie | Say Shalom! 00:49, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Flinders Petrie, I greatly appreciate your offer to find a better image of the Greenwich flag! Local knowledge and access is a great thing to offer Wikipedia, and it's so nice to see someone step up to the plate. I look forward to your future submission of either a new picture or a drawn image to improve the quality of this flag! Also, if there are any local flags or seals for the other areas of town such as Byram, Cos Cob, Riverside et al, that'd be great for their articles too. As you can see from the link above, finding "borough/village" seals and flags has been almost impossible in CT, and while town seals have been pretty easy (153/169, or 90.5%), the town flags (16/169, or 10.4%)have been much harder. Best, Markvs88 (talk) 12:50, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm afraid you'd be hard-pressed to find seals or flags for any of those three. They're not actually towns, rather they're more like neighbourhoods of Greenwich with their own post offices. Greenwich has about... idk, maybe six or seven neighbourhoods. You have Greenwich (the main part of the town which includes the Business District with its own 'ghetto', which looks slightly nicer than the nicest part of Brooklyn, and the houses and the residential back country), Old Greenwich with its nice (formerly exclusive) beach, Riverside, best-known for the two or three strip-malls there and being the part you pass through to get to Old Greenwich, Cos Cob, which is also filled with strip malls (all fancy ones mind you AND Chicken Joe's) nestled between the Business District and Riverside. Then past the Business district, you have Byram, which has a wee beach and some houses. It's right before Portchester, NY, which is well... you don't want to go there unless you have to really. Off somewhere you have Glenville, which is mostly residential with a wee strip mall (they're pretty common in Fairfield County for whatever reason). The rest is backwoods, Mianus basically. Many of the other 'towns' you are having trouble finding images for a most likely neighbourhoods I'm afraid. Sir William Matthew Flinders Petrie | Say Shalom! 18:15, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
