Notability

[edit]

The fact that he created so many crosses for so many victims and traveled around the country to display them is amazing, but I don't really see how this makes him notable enough to warrant an article. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 20:09, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

His death is being reported by multiple media outlets, a Wikipedia precedent for notability. --The Vital One (talk) 21:49, 4 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Additionally, let me point out this CNN headline: "Greg Zanis, known the nation over as 'The Cross Man,' dies at 69". To me, that indicates that a reliable source is asserting notability. Any reactions, let's please discuss, and thanks to all for the work they put into WP. KConWiki (talk) 01:23, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Agree with the above; many sources cited are in response to Zanis' death, but other were generated years ago and as such there is a good case for the subject to meet WP:SUSTAINED. I will remove the notability template with an explanation after letting this discussion mature for a few more days. SamHolt6 (talk) 03:19, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not entirely convinced, but I went ahead and removed it. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 15:31, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
