Proposed deletion[edit]

I removed the proposed deletion as part of a good-faith effort to expand and improve this article to address the nominator's concerns. While a young judicial nominee, Costa is notable for his extensive work in the prosecution of Allen Stanford, and I expanded the article to include those details. I believe notability has been established both by his nomination alone but also by the number of ghits that his name generates. In addition, Costa's nomination has bipartisan support, suggesting that he will be easily confirmed. While I can very much appreciate Bgwhite's concerns about the possibility that Costa won't actually be a federal judge until he is confirmed (and I recognize the professional-sports analogy that he made), this is a nominee who unquestionably will be confirmed before the end of Obama's first term. All that said, I would reiterate that Costa -- as a longtime federal prosecutor working on high-profile cases and appearing frequently in the news media -- is notable on his own.
