Tried to fill in some bits about Gregg Williams background from the Redskins coaching bio: http://www.redskins.com/team/cprofile.jsp?id=47

What is the source on him earning 1M if he isn't named Head Coach? 165.97.14.70

Article states he joined the Oilers in 1990 under Buddy Ryan. In 1990, Buddy Ryan was Head Coach of the Eagles, and Ryan did not joint the Oilers until the 1993 season.

The Oilers Defensive Coordinator in 1990 was Jim Eddy, not Buddy Ryan. Buddy Ryan's only season in Houston was in 1993. The article is misleading. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:241:0:6C10:9C68:1067:68F6:3EDA (talk) 00:45, 12 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject class rating

This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as start, and the rating on other projects was brought up to start class. BetacommandBot 15:34, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lede should Reflect Bounty Scandal

[edit]

Another user has now twice reverted references in the lede to William's invovement in the bounty-for-injury scheme. The first reversion (March 3) said "its too soon, please wait until this story gains more traction". The latest reversion (March 16) has a new rationale for waiting: "wait at least until penalties if any are known" (I may not be the only user to read with apprehension that phrase "at least"...). What next? Does anyone seriously believe that Williams's reputation is ever going to escape the cloud created by this admitted misconduct? How long are we going to keep spinning this one out? Nandt1 (talk) 00:02, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

OK, now we have the penalties.... Nandt1 (talk) 18:27, 21 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Can we please edit it to reflect that he WAS a coach...not "is". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.231.162.236 (talk) 04:39, 22 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am open to the views of others, but I am not sure if that is correct. He is still -- by profession -- a coach, even if at the present time he is suspended from working as a coach within an NFL team. We do not know how long the suspension will last, but it is not a lifetime suspension per se, nor has he retired.... Nandt1 (talk) 22:01, 22 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. Eagles 24/7 (C) 22:03, 22 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"though payments were known to triple during the playoffs" -- by whom? This section really needs to be sourced better. V Chip (talk) 22:30, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
