Pasty Protest

The assumption that Greggs started the campaign is incorrect. Yes they participated, but it was actually triggered by Cornwall Councillor Alex Folkes in association with pasty makers in Cornwall and comedian "Kernow King". Gregg's jumped on the bandwagon. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/campaign-launched-over-pasty-tax-7583443.html --84.13.244.130 (talk) 10:36, 12 September 2012 (UTC)

Tricky problem here over Greggs having had to charge VAT after all. I originally put this into the article, based on the referenced Daily Mail report. Correspondence with Greggs themselves established that this was a trial and they do now let the pasties etc cool naturally and therefore do not charge VAT. However, there is no published source for this, since "Greggs not charging VAT after all" is not a story. I didn't make the subsequent change that was then reverted for having no source, but so far as I know it is accurate. I suppose someone could go and buy a Greggs pasty and check that it shows 0% VAT, but that wouldn't be me... Matruman (talk) 13:21, 2 March 2015 (UTC)
