Untitled[edit]

I visited Grenadier Island when I was a young boy back in the early 70's. I vividly remember an old resort type building being on the island, sort of like an old mansion with a big ballroom. It was in a general state of disrepair back then and I can only imagine what it must look like now, if it still even exists. I don't remember the island being populated at that time, just old buildings there. We walked the length of the island. It was very cool for a young NYC boy to see a place like that. Today, I love the TI region and visit as often as possible.

If anyone knows more of the island's history I would greatly appreciate any info. Thanks.

What's this image?[edit]

Is the first image supposed to be the flag of Grenadier Island? ---------User:DanTD (talk) 05:59, 27 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I tried to ask people on the "Flags of the World" website, but nobody will tell me anything.
No idea. A Google 'Search by Image' (can't say if that link will work for others) doesn't find the image in use anywhere else, but does (rightly) suggest that the image includes the emblem of the Grenadier Guards, an infantry regiment of the British Army. Google Translate gives the inscription as "The Sportsman Paradise Kings" in French which I'm sure is garbled, but seems dis-congruent with the article's subject. I'm going to remove it; anyone who wishes it re-introduced need only briefly explain what the heck this is all about. Antepenultimate (talk) 02:09, 18 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
