Transliteration of name

[edit]

I know nothing about transliteration of Russian names, but wanted to point out that:

  • Wikispecies
  • Natural History Museum's Global Lepidoptera Names Index
  • Lepidoptera and Some Other Life Forms

all use the spelling "Grum-Grshimailo". SchreiberBike | ⌨  20:49, 9 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that we should use the most commonly used English transliteration- the person that moved it seems to have only objected to the patronymic middle name. Shyamal (talk) 06:28, 10 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I propose that we change the title and use within the article to Grigory Grum-Grshimailo. Any objection? After that goes through, I'll go through Wikipedia and change to that spelling. Thanks, SchreiberBike | ⌨  20:08, 10 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I've made the change. If there's no objection, after a couple of days I'll start going through Wikipedia to make other references consistent with this page. Thank you. SchreiberBike | ⌨  20:11, 16 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
With two exceptions, where "Grumm-Grjimailo, G. E." is listed as the author of a book, Wikipedia is now standardized as Grigory Grum-Grshimailo. I've requested a move of Category:Taxa named by Grigory Grumm-Grzhimaylo to Category:Taxa named by Grigory Grum-GrshimailoSchreiberBike | ⌨  04:12, 23 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
