"railway"?

[edit]

Until now, this is a reserved metro station, and seems to be only metro, I don't know if there are references that China Railway also reserved a Guanqiao station, any ideas? --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 02:18, 22 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Guanqiao stationGuanqiao railway station – Following the naming convention of established article Guangzhou South railway station, this article ought to be moved to match that since it is an upcoming China Railway stop on the Foshan–Dongguan intercity railway. @NemesisAT and Buidhe: Hi, this article (and its wikidata page & linked article in Chinese Wikipedia) is talking about a METRO station of Guangzhou Metro Line 4, not the railway station of Intercity railway. Please move back to its original title. --Tim Wu (talk) 09:05, 30 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, perhaps I should have explained better in my original request. The metro station will be connected to a China Railway station in the future. Should this article be moved, either now or at some point future, to follow the rialway station naming convention? Following Guangzhou South as an example. Or, should a separate article be created for the China Railway station? Thanks NemesisAT (talk) 09:30, 30 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@NemesisAT: Hi, sorry I misunderstood your purpose. I just found that articles of Guangzhou's metro and railway station in English Wikipedia are in one, but in Chinese Wikipedia, they're separated. I personally hope that these stations can be described separately, because these stations are two different subjects; but if the habits (or related consensus) in English Wikipedia are separate, I have no objection to the rename of this article. --Tim Wu (talk) 10:00, 30 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Okay no worries, and having separate station and metro articles is my preference too. Looks like @Ramramger: has already done this for the other article I nominated for moving, Hanxi Changlong station, creating the new Guangzhou Changlong railway station article. To be consistent, a metro station article should be created for Guangzhou South railway station, I'm happy to try and create that now. As for consensus, I'm not sure if one has been reached or how other editors feel. The two proposed moves were up for over a week without comment so I guess it's okay to be WP:BOLD in this case.
