Lockheed T-33 / Douglas C-47[edit]

Just a quick note: The Guatemalan Air Force is no longer operating the Lockheed T-33 and the Douglas C-47 / DC-3 types. There are surviving examples of both but those are not in service. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.57.97.252 (talk) 20:58, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This article contains several negative POV and unreferenced statements. BatteryIncluded (talk) 02:23, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Strategy Section?[edit]

I noticed my comments about the strange wording in the strategy section were removed. I will say again, I believe this section is either irrelevant, poorly constructed or both. It certainly isn't backed up by any citations or references. To say that the Guatemalan Air Force is unique because they are trained to circle around and attack from behind, is probably not true - this has likely been done by every air force since air forces were created. The concept of the "In Out In Out" strategy, to pull out to be substituted with another aircraft group, is probably not based in fact, considering most of the fleet is permanently grounded due to lack of maintanence. If you want to describe the F.A.G.'s strategy, we should go for a historical reference to what they actually have done in combat situations - perhaps their involvement in the Bay of Pigs Invasion, or something. Otherwise, I see no meaning or reason behind this section. MisplacedFate1313 (talk) 00:38, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with you. Besides, strategy in battle is in dynamic change. Deleted. -BatteryIncluded (talk) 02:41, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Embargo?[edit]

The article says there is an arms embargo on Guatemala. All I could find in thar regard is that Ronald Reagan overturned the arms embargo imposed on Guatemala by Carter in 1980. A lot has happened since then. Is there an embargo currently? I find no references to it. It may be deleted if nothing is found. -BatteryIncluded (talk) 02:47, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Super Tucano - cancelled[edit]

I deleted the entry on the 6 Super Tucano aircraft "in order" because the President of Guatemala cancelled it: [1]. He is shopping in Israel instead. -BatteryIncluded (talk) 20:46, 19 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
