Proununciation?[edit]

Please consider this vocalization based on the American-English language: GUA-YA-QUIL

"GUA" as in "WA"shington (Washington)

"YA" as in de"JA"-vu (deja-vu)

"QUIL" as in in "kill" (kill)

then, you can read it as: WA-JA-KILL

"References" and "External Links"[edit]

I did just move two links which i was sure of to be more logically placed in "External Links" than "References". Some of the other links i think maybe better in external links than references, but i'm not sure. perhaps the original editors could give advice about the original intentions?

Schools[edit]

I don't think that a Study abroad learning center can count as a higher education institute. Therefore Blue Hill College should be eliminated from the article

Jaime Nebot's party is no longer partido social cristiano[edit]

Actually, "Madera de guerrero" is a movement rather than a party, and the "Partido Social Cristiano" (PSC) does exist, and mayor Nebot is still affiliated although somewhat distanced. Photo overload[edit]

This article is beginning to more closely resemble a tourist brochure than an encyclopaedia, and the resultant impression is very different from the city that most of its residents know. I reckon that at least half of the pictures should be culled, or at least moved to a gallery section: I could be bold, but would rather invite people to nominate here which ones we can live without. The population of the city, according to the last census was 2.360.000 but the figure shown in the article is of 3 million for the inner city and 4 million for the metropolitan area. Second largest city[edit]

I have changed the starting paragraph from "largest city" to "second largest city" because Quito is bigger. In fact, the linked citation actually states that Guayaquil is no longer the largest city in Ecuador. Ev3commander (talk) 23:35, 28 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The largest city of Ecuador in 2019[edit]

There is great controversy regarding the most populated cities in the country, however, "Quito has been ratified as the most populous city in Ecuador," as there are no articles in the law or the like that dictate that the population of a city is purely urban, it is municipal as a whole. Quito has 2,735,987 inhabitants (remember that Quito is not only the area of ​​urban parishes, Quito comprises a whole, that is, Quito D.M.), while Guayaquil (understand Guayaquil as a WHOLE) has 2,698,077 inhabitants. A clear difference of just over 38,000 inhabitants, a gap that increases over the years. There are people who defend by sword that Guayaquil is still the most populous city in the country, CLEAR REGIONALISM an desinformation (Wikipedia isn't the only reference). Of course, its urban parishes concentrate more population than those of Quito. 2.6 million vs. 2 million. But 'the term city UNDERSTANDS EVERYTHING', not just urban cities, since, as I mentioned earlier, there is no law that indicates that a city is made up of urban parishes. For example, Calderón is a rural parish in Quito, but it belongs to the city of Quito.

If so, otherwise please let me know in my personal discussion. Also, I delete the "controversy" note, because I leave below evidence and sufficient references that notice that Quito is the largest city of Ecuador.

Despite the provided facts that Quito is larger than Guayaquil, Wikipedia keeps on changing the article. This counts as vandalism.
