New Songs From OXM Magazine

http://community.guitarhero.com/forums/55708/forum_topics/112952--Slicktrick (talk) 04:13, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

Ha. Dude I was just on that forum and added the songs in. Can someone source them?--Unknownsage13 (talk) 04:20, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

The Negramaro song is properly called "Nuvole e Lenzuola" according to their article. Beelzebozo (talk) 14:50, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

Adding wrong songs to XBox source

Someone added "Stranglehold" and "Satch Booogie" even though they don't appear in the XBox-Mag article. Personally, I think "Stranglehold" has been confirmed via the E3 demos, but that doesn't mean mis-sourcing it at throwing it on the list is the right thing to do. 66.209.135.115 (talk) 00:48, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

Sweet Home Alabama

GameFAQ's confirmed this song to be in the game....shouldnt it be added —Preceding unsigned comment added by Accent Aigu (talkcontribs) 22:36, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

Gamefaqs is not really reliable, but please providea URL for evaulation. --MASEM 23:10, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
Found a "rumored leaked" list containing Sweet Home Alabama @ GameFAQ's.

It's in the Hootin' and Hollerin' Tour Venue. Not sure it's a reliable source, though. anakin4me (talk) 19:24, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
First off, rumors can't be included in articles. 2nd, that setlist has been proven false by NeverSoft. Shapiros10 contact meMy work 23:25, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

UK Release Date

Well seeing as how it is currently 08/20/2008... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.243.241.75 (talk) 21:54, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

I believe that he meant 7 November. European dates are day/month/year.KhalfaniKhaldun 21:59, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Yes we date things correctly, not in a rather strange manner, like I am going to forget what month it is ... ;) but yeah seems to say nov 7th...

I don't see why the UK has to get it quite late compared to everyone else. But Play.com for the pre-orders and the price is awesome. Full Band and game for £149.99(plus free wireless bass guitar when pre-ordered, while there stocks last) Better deal than Rock Band, for sure. anyone agree to that?

New peripheral mention by Neversoft project director

In an interview with G4, Neversoft project director Brian Bright mentioned one additional peripheral for Guitar Hero: World Tour. http://www.gamespot.com/news/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=26556510&tag=;title;1 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Microxkairi (talkcontribs) 06:05, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

This has since been edited http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/688468/New_Guitar_Hero_World_Tour_Peripheral_Revealed.html UPDATE (8.21.08): It turns out we got some wires crossed on this story: According to a Red Octane rep., there is no new peripheral. There is an option in the Studio Mode to add keyboard sounds but that comes from the guitar. The input port on the drums is for any other instrument you would like to add to the tracks. Our apologies for misinterpreting. There is no new instrument and thus should be removed from the page —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.32.215.105 (talk) 13:19, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

Activision should be ashamed...a keyboard would've opened the music possibilities even more. They got everyones hopes up, too. Maybe this was just a publicity stunt, so that if they release a Keyboard Hero, everyone will love it even more. --24.63.18.184 (talk) 00:59, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

European-specific tracks

Activison has confirmed tracks exclusive to the european version of the game:

  • Anouk - “Good God” (Netherlands)
  • Beatsteaks - “Hail to the Freaks” (Germany)
  • Hush Puppies - “You’re Gonna Say Yeah” (France)
  • Kent - “Vinternoll 2″ (Sweden)
  • Lost Prophets - “Rooftops” (UK)
  • Negramaro - “Nuvole E Lenzuola” (Italy)
  • Oasis - “Some Might Say” (UK)
  • Radio Futura - “Escuela de Calor” (Spain)
  • Stuck in the Sound - “Toy Boy” (France)
  • The Enemy - “Aggro” (UK)
  • Tokio Hotel - “Monsoon” (Germany)

Could someone add theese to the setlist and point out that they are european-specific tracks?

Here is the link: http://gonintendo.com/?p=53345 (article from the 21:st of August). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wreslemaniac (talkcontribs) 17:22, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

Rooftops and Some Might Say were confirmed on a list to be in the standard GHWT aswell.--Unknownsage13 (talk) 18:12, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
Read the article again. At no point does it say that those songs will only be in the European version. Might want to just add them to the main setlist. Skrutop (talk) 18:54, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
In addition, the company revealed a host of European-specific tracks which will be available on-disc in Guitar Hero World Tour when the game ships this fall.., to me, reads that the tracks are specific to the EU version (some of the songs there are also on the EU-specific version of GH: On Tour, thus, I would not be surprised to see two different set lists) --MASEM 19:02, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
Both Rooftops and Some Might Say were on that small list in that picture that confirmed the Motorhead and Nirvana(and a few more I forgot)and I think they should both be on the official list aswell.--Unknownsage13 (talk) 20:32, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
Keep going with that quote: "plus a host of European-specific tracks to be featured on-disc in all versions of the game." That could just mean Wii, PS3, 360, etc. in Europe, but it could also be read as all versions coming out, period. Remember last year when Activision announced European tracks for Guitar Hero 3 and everyone immediately assumed that they would only be available in the EU? Skrutop (talk) 20:33, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
Precisely. I've moved it back into the main setlist table, and it should stay there until we know for sure they are exclusive to Europe. For now, they are just "confirmed songs". Orcaloverbri9 (talk) 14:04, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

Typo

"Project director Brian Blight claims that they have "a pretty even split between the '80s, '90s, and classic rock" with a "good amount of emerging bands"." This is right under the soundtrack section and I'm pretty sure it's Brain Bright not Blight.

Yep, it is Brian Bright. Just fixed it. =P E.M. talkcontribs 21:12, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

FHM Confirmed Songs

FHM confirmed four (4) new songs in the GHWT set list:
→ Blondie - "One Way or Another"
→ Fleetwood Mac - "Go Your Own Way"
→ Mars Volta - "L'Via L'Viaquez"
→ Pat Benatar - "Heartbreaker"

http://www.fhmonline.com/site/content/article.aspx?id=36137

So if someone wants to add them to the main page, go for it. It would seem to appear that the most recent leaked set list may, in fact, be the official one. Also, in a thread on the official GHWT forums, Brian Bright has confirmed that Dream Theater will have a song in the game.

Orgymang (talk) 04:39, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

I have added the new songs (One Way or Another, L'Via L'Viaquez, and Heartbreaker) to the Main Page Setlist. anakin4me (talk) 15:04, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
You missed the Fleetwood Mac song too. Sorry, I'd add them but I don't have access to be able to do it. Orgymang (talk) 00:01, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

New article: List of songs in Guitar Hero World Tour

I think it's about time to split set list off into its own article, as is the case with Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock and List of songs in Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. It's definitely long enough to merit moving, as I think it detracts from the article by keeping it there now. KhalfaniKhaldun 15:21, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

I just came here to start a section about this, because I was thinking the same thing. The article's getting pretty lengthy, and it would probably be a lot easier to read if there wasn't a huge list in the middle of it. Shapeshift1 (talk) 20:01, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
Once we have a full track list, it will be split off, but until we can provide more info on songs (what tiers/tours they are in) its better to keep the list here. In the past, splitting off before the full track list is known means people will be adding rumored songs to both pages and making it doubly difficult to keep up. --MASEM 20:03, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
Masem's right. We should wait until we can provide the complete setlist. That should make things easier for us. -- E.M. talkcontribs 23:11, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
Well they aren't gonna be in tiers though and if we're gonna do tours we'd have to do the same with RB...--Unknownsage13 (talk) 22:27, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
What about moving the Soundtrack section to the end of the article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.209.135.115 (talk) 22:35, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

Any way you want it?

This hasn't been confirmed. I checked the source, and no where does it mention anything about the song. Could someone please revert this back? 70.254.70.223 (talk) 02:36, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

I also checked, its not mentioned anywhere. It's confirmed for Rock Band 2, and someone may have slipped it in here accidentally.

I'm going to agree, since I can't find it, either, and it was also DLC for GH3 so I doubt they'll be using it again. I'm going to go ahead and remove it unless someone can find a legitimate source for it. KhalfaniKhaldun 14:54, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

Mic in Music Studio

http://www.gamespot.com/pages/image_viewer/frame_lead.php?pid=944201&%3Cbr%20/%3Eamp;%20amp;img=5&popup=1 One of the screenshots shows mic in the music studio. —Preceding unsigned comment added by RikuDawn (talkcontribs) 02:50, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

Check again. In the fifth screenshot there's a "MIC" instrument selected. Could be voice synth or something. Dfsghjkgfhdg (talk) 03:39, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

Brian Bright: "You can record vocals while you're playing, so that you can create real songs, voice and all. If you also add a keyboard track to the song, this will act as the vocal melody. Obviously, it won't read what words you're saying, you'll just be able to hum along. But you can do the same with any singing game available now." http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/26/joystiq-interview-guitar-hero-world-tours-brian-bright/ Fco. (talk) 15:12, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

So I noticed when you were going through the track maker during the press conference that it didn't look like you could record vocals. Is it possible to do that?

You can record vocals while you're playing, so that you can create real songs, voice and all.If you also add a keyboard track to the song, this will act as the vocal melody. Obviously, it won't read what words you're saying, you'll just be able to hum along. But you can do the same with any singing game available now.

How will you respond to people making well known songs in the song creator?

We don't condone copyrighted content being put on GHTunes, but it's going to be a community moderated site. If the copyright holder complains, then we'll take it down. Otherwise, we'll probably leave it up unless it's offensive.

I don't know how to start a new heading but http://xbox360.gamespy.com/xbox-360/guitar-hero-4/901937p1.html gives information on characters in the game, plus a screenshot on the wikipedia page shows Izzy Sparks. Bands confirmed by Gamestop advert

Should these be added to the article (the bands not already mentioned in soundtrack section) or should it be left out until some of these have been confirmed by Activison/Neversoft? link... http://www.scorehero.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=73066&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=465&sid=ba895f2625e63f4815ba6c75ae70587f Spasticmonkey (talk) 12:50, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

A link would be nice UltimateSin01 (talk) 12:59, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
I would be careful. This is a GameStop ad, not Activision, thus its not official. However, I'd prefer a better source than the scorehero forums (it looks like a magazine ad, we just need issue, date, page #), and then state that bands X,Y, and Z are included in a GameStop ad for the game with that ref. --MASEM 13:18, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

I'm unsure of what the magazine is or what the original source i, i just happened to see it whilst browsing the scorehero forums and thought i'd mention it on here. I'll try goin back a few pages on the thread to see if anyone says where its from. *after spending a long time looking through the thread, no-one has said where the picture has come from, so i guess this can just be rumour for now* Spasticmonkey (talk) 13:40, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

Well, if you look at the bands on it now, and the bands in the game announced, you see that the ad is almost completely true. So, maybe the other bands listed there are actually going to be in the game. Why would Gamestop make this up? They wouldn't. --Sw2493 (talk) 21:25, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

The problem is in the "maybe" there are going to be in it. Until some reliable source confirms it, it´s speculation. Plus, it's only the bands list, not a mention about songs... Garavello (talk) 21:46, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
Just to mention the bands listed in the ad that have no confirmed songs yet: 311, Korn, Jimmy Eat World, Lynard Skynard, Wilie Nelson. Garavello (talk) 21:56, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
Ok, but I do think those bands listed that aren't comfirmed are going to be in the game. Also, what's up with the lack of RHCP?!?! --Sw2493 (talk) 22:28, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

Wouldn't it make sense to arrange it alphabetically by band name (artist). It would be much more organized and easier to find a specific band. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Accent Aigu (talkcontribs) 16:01, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
