Although a brown soun make good speakers, they can hardly be called a well-known brand. Edit or not? Remmelt 16:21, 21 August 2006 (UTC) They're the newest company to make a big splash. For how very new they are (as a new-speaker manufacturer) they have gotten a great deal of attention in the magazines and online. Advise keeping. MichaelSHoffman 05:36, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Seven years on and they're still not a "well known" brand. Neither are Fane, Tone Tubby or Warehouse. Knowing about them because you read about them does not make them well known. When people are asking questions like "has anyone ever heard of..." and there are few to none responses from people who've actually had experience with them makes then not well known. Splash advertising does not make them well known. I've been building speakers for 45 years and I've never heard of those above. I recommend removing them, because leaving them gives precedent to any other manufacturer to insert their own brand for advertising without having to justify their opinion about their own popularity. For this reason I also recommend editing the listing to change "well known" to "frequently seen" or something similar, as this can provide a means to at least approach an objective measure. a difference that makes no difference is no difference[edit]

Far too little effort has been made here to differentiate the concept guitar speaker from the general loudspeaker.

As well, it could be a section of guitar amplifier, seeing as an amp (or simulator) can be used without a speaker, but a speaker is useless without an amplifier. Moreover, a "guitar speaker" is regularly used both to mean the electromagnetic device (loudspeaker) itself AND the cabinet into which one or more speakers is mounted.

Seeing as there is also a resounding lack of references, I am going to make the case that this article needs to be removed. What isn't covered under loudspeaker can fit handily into guitar amplifier.

Anyone want to disagree?
