The result of the move request was: moved to Gujarat Subah. A consensus emerged to move this article, but – while several titles were proposed – none of the participants discussed the titles proposed by anyone else. Thus, this closure is nearer to a WP:NOTCURRENTTITLE close than to a strong affirmative consensus.
Onward to my analysis of the arguments: Though no policies were mentioned by name, several of the titling criteria were alluded to in the discussion. The issue of WP:CONSISTENT was raised in support of every proposed title, so it doesn't support any one title over the others. By contrast, WP:PRECISE was mentioned in support of "Gujarat Subah" alone. Thus, the strength of argument narrowly favors "Gujarat Subah". Finally, while RMs are WP:NOTAVOTE, "Gujarat Subah" was also the title that had the greatest number of users speaking out in its favor. Gujarat under the Mughal Empire → ? – This article is written as though describing the Gujarat Subah (province) of the Mughal empire, but isn't titled so. It is described as a subah in the infobox, the page is categorized as a subah (as well as an established state/territory), and it provides a lot of detail about the governors/viceroys of the subah. I think it would make sense to move this page to the page Gujarat Subah, which is more precise since 'subah' specifically refers to a province of the Mughal empire. Seeking community input on this, because I recognise that 'Gujarat under the Mughal empire' and 'Gujarat Subah' have different meanings. Comment - I don't know what exactly if this is within guidelines but I would suggest "Mughal Gujarat" perhaps, considering how regions are known when ruled by an empire (eg. Roman Britain). Estar8806 (talk) 18:43, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Support - Seeing as articles titled Bengal Subah, Subah of Lahore, and Subah of Multan, amidst others, already exist, I would support a move to 'Gujarat Subah' or 'Subah of Gujarat'. ThethPunjabi (talk) 10:53, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Relisting comment: Relisting for additional participation. Currently a consensus to move, but no consensus on where. BilledMammal (talk) 14:21, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
