Sikh Era Has No References

[edit]

The entire section relating to the Sikh era is unsourced and I notice that there is a tag for removal from July of this year. I will be checking on this page sometime in mid August to check if the appropriate sources have been provided. After reviewing the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Verifiability#Burden_of_evidence, I think that the section could most likely be removed in its entirety right now but will instead give notice before removal. The information is not only uncited, it is very biased with a mixture of fact and history. I am aware of the Jihad against the Sikhs by the Muslims of Punjab and its failure, but it should be cited. What is most alarming about the paragraph is the claims that Muslim sites were looted to construct the Harmandir Sahib. The sentence is not only inaccurate as it was constructed a few centuries before the alleged looting but also because even if it was a misstatement relating to the beautification of the Harmandir Sahib with marble and gold, its a claim which has been uncited. According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Verifiability#Burden_of_evidence, one of the main points of reliable sources is to ensure that existing groups are protected from being slandered and without even a single citation for the entire paragraph this is exactly what is happening.

I hope I have made the reasons for my action clear and scholarly. Thank you.
