Hafizabad[edit]

Hafizabad is one of those three districts that were separated from Gujranwala division to include them in newly formed Gujrat division and other two districts were Gujrat itself and Mandi Bahauddin. Wazirabad was later included as a fourth district in Gujarat division after its elevation as a district. But the concern here is that district Hafizabad inclusion in Gujarat is unjustifiable. It has no direct boundary with Gujrat as compared to other districts in the division. There was no respect of opinion of the stakeholders of Hafizabad and public while making this decision as no one wanted to join Gujrat. People are culturally, linguistically and politically different and poles apart. On the other side, Hafizabad is naturally more comfortable with Gujranwala division as it's nearest and has direct boundary, people shared same culture and emotionally feel as a one unit. Historically Hafizabad had been tehsil of Gujranwala and later was part of Gujranwala division when got elevation as a district. 37.111.150.147 (talk) 05:30, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
