Is it just coincidental, but is his surname in any way related to the Russian word for spider, паук (pa-uk)? -- JackofOz (talk) 01:57, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've added a (very brief) 'Notable students' section to the article based on the sources that I could find quickly that confirmed some of the above - the remaining entries in the list will need to be added and sourced by other editors.
