This article contains inaccurate information and needs revision.M de Lorz (talk) 03:45, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article confuses the traditional French meaning of the word "Hotel," which means a grand town house or mansion, with the modern general usage: an establishment for paying guests. Therefore it reads as if the Hotel de Crillon were always a lodging house, rather than the private home of the Comtes de Crillon. Also, the reference to Marie Antoinette visiting and taking piano lessons here is fictitious. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lorzu (talkcontribs) 08:32, 24 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This article is terribly out of date.

The actual ownership of this hotel is by Barry Sternlicht or Starwood capital (A US based company) since 1995(via the Goup du louvre offshoot of Starwood Capital). They acquired it and many other tattinger holdings including Baccarat, Tattinger Champagne Vineyards, etc.(Vineyards have apparently been reaquired by the Tatingers)

Also, The hotel hosts many events and personalities. It seems innapropriate to mention just an insignificant one such as the ball de debutantes. That was clearly added as a commercial attempt(Coomercial promotion on wiki is banned I thought). Furthermore, IF YOU LEAVE IT, the Ball de Debutantes should be edited to say something like, The hotel has formerly hosted the the ball. This is because, 1) The hotel is no longer a patron of the event (since 2008) and the event is no longer going to be hosted at the hotel for the foreseeable future. I will be happy to make a necessary edit, BUT I am locked out of this supposed free space for editing. We can't volunteer to help, if you have things locked down like this.

I will check back again. If you release the edit function, I will be happy to help. Hhhannnahhh (talk) 11:11, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have updated some details of ownership as I indicated I wanted to do. At this time, it is unclear if the deal to the saudi arabian family is complete or not, so I wrote it to the stage I did. Once I know the actual new owners, I will update again. I also plan to make some more changes... Specificaly, I want to change the commercial advertissing of that event and while I will allow it, I will make the entry more encyclopedic and true. (The event is not being held this year according to the organizers of lebal.fr. This can be verified also in a mailonline article published November 4... Richard Kay: http://findarticles.com/p/news-articles/daily-mail-london-england-the/mi_8002/is_2010_Nov_4/debutantes-despair/ai_n56198955/ I also doubt that Saudi ownership will be supportive of the event so future years look questionable. Nazi Germany's headquarters in WWII

[edit]

all the major Paris hotels were requistioned by occupying forces, but while all the other hotel articles mention their use by lesser aspects of the German occupation, Crillon was the headquarters of the whole thing, it ought to be in this article. 67.243.29.174 (talk) 19:54, 19 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
