I've listed Lt Cdr C D B Coventry as Royal Navy (RN) which is how the late Donald Collingwood had him down, however I should point out that uboat.net has him down as Royal Navy Reserve (RNR). Can any one clear this up?

Re: The number of crew rescued/captured from the German submarine U-672 when it sank.
Donald Collingwood in The Captain Class Frigates in the Second World War (ISBN 085052 615 9, published by Leo Cooper 1998) list the number as 51.
Peter Sharpe in U-Boat Fact File (ISBN 1 85780 072 9, published by Midland Publishing 1998) list the number as 52 crew plus the commander (total 53) - I've gone for this number in the article as Peter Sharpe has gone in to greater detail in his book.
EDIT 06:26, 2 March 2007 (UTC): Just to add confusion uboat.net list the number as 52 survivors (No casualties) http://uboat.net/boats/u672.htm
EDIT 13:40, 3 March 2007 (UTC): I've been in contact with Gudmundur Helgason at uboat.net and I'm now happy that number was 52, this number comes from the book German U-Boat Losses During World War II by - Niestle, Axel (ISBN 1557506418).
