Amakusa casualties

[edit]

Hobbs gives 157 lives lost in Gray's sinking of Amakusa, while our own article on Amakusa refers to sources which list 71 casualties. This article reconciles the figures by identifying 157 as the total casualties among the Japanese ships sunk at Onagawa Bay. Choess (talk) 19:58, 18 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"At least some of Formidable's 4.5-inch guns did actually fire off one salvo in what was one of the few occasions in the Second World War in which an aircraft carrier fired her main armament at enemy warships."

What were the other occasions? Did that actually happen on any other carrier?--91.5.106.161 (talk) 02:43, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
