Will take a look shortly. Pickersgill-Cunliffe (talk) 17:20, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Prelim

[edit]

Lede and infobox

[edit]
  • Lede is quite chunky, suggest splitting into two paragraphs
    • I think I see what you mean. I have reworded it so hopefully it flows better.
  • I don't think Scout was launched on "34 April 1918"...!
    • Oops. Amended.

Design and development

[edit]
  • Link aft
    • Added.
  • "The Beam was..."
    • Added.
  • "making the vessel very wet" perhaps this could be changed to something like "causing excess water to come aboard at sea"?
    • Changed.
  • "enabled the heavier Mark V 21-inch torpedo to be carried" instead of?
    • The source does not say. I assume a lighter torpedo.

Construction and career

[edit]
  • Link Royal Navy
    • Added.
  • "before the Armistice that ended the First World War." is repeated twice in the paragraph
    • Removed the second instance.
  • Western Front should be capitalised
    • Capitalised.
  • "The fleet was tasked with not simply helping to" > "The fleet was also tasked with helping to...and supporting the..."
    • Changed,
  • Cowan is a rear-admiral, not an admiral
    • Changed (and in the lead).
  • "was reported to have left" left where?
    • Clarified.
  • "left their anchorage" where?
    • Clarified.
  • "the British ships reported a hit" all the ships reported a single hit? and what kind of hit?
    • The sources give no more detail.
  • "Scout joined the Seventh Destroyer Flotilla" when?
    • Added.
  • "by the Wanderer"
    • Removed.
  • "the ship ran aground during trials" do we know where?
    • Not exactly, but I have added context to show roughly where.
  • "recommissioned on 20 September"
    • Added.
  • "landings"
    • Added.
  • "on 13 February" 1942 needs to be moved to this date and removed from the succeeding one
    • Moved.
  • "the ship formed part of Force B" doing what? for how long?
    • Clarified.

References

[edit]
  • Ref. #26 should be re-formatted to fit the style of the other print sources
    • Reformatted.
  • References look good. AGF for print sources.

@Simongraham: That's all I have for now, will await your response. Pickersgill-Cunliffe (talk) 23:10, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
