Change page use[edit]

I've undone the redirect to Talk:HSwMS Sverige, as the page is required for discussion. Xyl 54 (talk) 23:54, 9 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Duplication[edit]

This redirect page was altered to mimic the HSwMS Sverige page, with the edit summary “Why on earth would this be 'Sw'? Can we now expect the UK Navy to be marked 'Br' or similar?)"
Apart from the confrontational tone of the summary, this is a cut-and-paste change, which (per WP:CPM) is “highly undesrirable”. It also duplicates the content of another article (which is un-necessary) and would either be a content fork (which is a violation of policy) or preparatory to deleting the original article (which is plain wrong).
On the issue raised over terminology, there have been several discussion (the latest, here) and the decision was to have Swedish ships at HSwMS, because we should use English on the English WP and follow English language conventions (as we follow Swedish conventions on the Swedish WP); and because the Swedish Armed Forces themselves state that "In international contexts (in English) Swedish naval ships are labelled HSwMS...".
If there is any objection to this, it should be raised in a discussion, either here or at the MILHIST page; it should not be expressed in disruptive edits. Xyl 54 (talk) 00:11, 10 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
