Meaning of "with federation"
[edit]What is the meaning of "with federation" in the following: "The vessel joined the Commonwealth Naval Forces with federation in 1901."GinAndChronically (talk) 08:59, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
- @GinAndChronically: this refers to the Federation of Australia, when the various colonies of the Australian continent were combined as one nation. One of the flow-on effects was that various colony-operated entities (like warships) were amalgamated into new national bodies. -- saberwyn 10:57, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
- I had a feeling that is what it meant but not being first hand with that portion of time did not want to speculate. I thought that there had to be some type of link. It can be very funny what subconscious stuff we can leave out of these articles that those not familiar just might not know where to start.GinAndChronically (talk) 11:41, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
