"This port can be enabled using the set-up utility which can be accessed with the F8 key during POST. In this screen an IP can be assigned via DHCP or static. It is also important to create a user so this utility can be accessed. Once the configuration has been done it has to be saved and the server needs to be restarted." ... this look like a badly done procedure about how to acces the ILO. I'm not sure it is of any use to tell that here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.204.2.30 (talk) 06:10, 18 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Good idea, merge iLO and integrated lights out. maybe reference RIB boards an give a helpful link to anyone wanting to combine with Active Directory

Agreed. They _are_ the same thing, and anyone searching for information will just bounce between the two in order to get the full picture. - 128.227.61.140 21:39, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes combine the two. A link or ref to RIB would also be useful.

Be sure to include other vendor Integrated Lights Out management systems such as Oracle/Sun — Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.254.4.8 (talk) 21:22, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone who knows verify the version(s) of iLO3 available? I think the best verifiable source for those versions would actually be a working download link. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.5.89.102 (talk) 21:24, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm seeing references to iLO4 on HP's website, can somebody confirm that this is the newest version, and if so update the Wiki? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.14.229.17 (talk) 00:40, 19 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Removed patent claim

[edit]

Removed the claim of the technology being based on a specific patent as it was based on the author´s interpretation of a primary source alone, as per WP:NOTRS: "All interpretive claims, analyses, or synthetic claims about primary sources must be referenced to a secondary source, rather than original analysis of the primary-source material by Wikipedia editors."

Pchelpcentre, The statement that a particular technology is based on a particular patent requires citation to a reliable secondary source. Otherwise it is an interpretive claim that constitutes original research. See WP:NOTRS. Also as per the Bold, revert, discuss cycle, it is strongly preferred that once edits have been reverted in good faith, editors discuss and try to achieve consensus on the relevant article talk page, not re-revert.
