Peoples Opinions[edit]

Who's the genius who put quotes around war on terror?

Wasn't Bush, he's too busy destroying the country and turning it into a nightmare state. Hopefully the next president will work to fix things, otherwise, it's time to get the hell out before they decide Gonzo's right and habeas corpus isn't expressly granted to everyone. Scary stuff.

Isn't this article missing FDR's ordering of Japanese-American internship during WWII? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 165.124.119.94 (talk) 21:52, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Should the article include the May 21, 2010 Fadi Al Maqaleh v. Robert M. Gates (Consolidated) ruling? A three-judge panel of the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals overturned a prior ruling on 3 habeas petitioners being held as enemy combatants at the Bagram Theater Internment Facility [1][2][3]Pndupont (talk) 00:59, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Senate vote on amendement S#2022 Fails[edit]

Senator Joseph R Biden, Jr said: “Habeas corpus was conceived to prevent someone from being locked up illegally, with no chance to contest his/her imprisonment. It is not a get out of jail free card. And it will not result in the release of dangerous terrorists," ... "As I’ve said before, the terrorists win when we abandon our civil liberties. The way we win is to show them that we can fight this war without changing our character as a nation. I hope the Senate reconsiders this issue once again.” source Jeff Carr 17:54, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Common Exceptions to Habeas Corpus in US[edit]

Individuals stalked and harassed with psychological warfare methods to provoke an incident leading to a complaint to a judge to place the individual into the mental health system. The victim is not provided a lawyer, does not see the original complaint, nor is allowed to speak to the judge. The harassment practice has now been expanded to using technological tools, like the microwave/ultrasound crowd control devices. Case in point: the capitol city shooter, who did make the claim his original trip to the capitol was to stop the 'radio waves' was deemed unfit for trial. Yet anyone who understood how these devices can be used for torture and sleep depravation should see the inherit flaw in justice when claims of 'radio waves' are deemed evidence of mental illness when in fact such devices exist.

Interment of elderly people in long term care facilities upon the complaint of a family member, although a hearing is done, and a lawyer allowed, a lawyer is commonly not present to defend the elderly victim as a lawyer is not required by law to defend the interests of the elderly. 71.114.183.105 (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 04:49, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have asked people to move most USA detail in Habeas corpus to Habeas corpus in the United States. Ex parte Quirin should be included because that is very important USA court case, because that is the first precedent of identifying unlawful combatant and trial them by military commission.--Kittyhawk2 (talk) 17:13, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
