explanation...

[edit]

The image that i have removed from the article violates the basic rules of Wikipedia. It is the own work of a Wikipedia editor who took a primary source combined it with other sources and then interpreted them. This is a violation of WP:OR. The fact that these are mostly primary sources has also further problems as it does not comply with the policies of BLP's of living people. So i see this topic as taken to the talk page and the image should not be re-included until consensus has been reached. IQinn (talk) 10:17, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is this the edit you are speaking about above? If so your edit summary says: "remove image because of BLP issue - please discuss on the talk page"
If this image lapses from WP:OR it should be a trivial matter for you to explain how it lapses from WP:OR. Please offer a response that recognizes you userstand WP:OI.
If this image lapses from WP:BLP it should be a trivial matter for you to explain how it lapses from WP:BLP.
Let me preclude one of your routine response to questions I have about your edits to material I originally contributed. Among your routine responses is to avoid any meaningful attempt to address the content issues, and instead to accuse me of violating the WP:ownership.
Every wikipedia contributor has an obligation to do their best to try to answer civil and specific questions other contributors have about their contributions -- or alternately own up and acknowledge that other contributors made good points. It doesn't matter whether that contribution is newly contributed material, or a modification or excision of previously contributed material.
Any good faith contributor is welcome to pose good faith questions to other contributors, and, I believe, it does not matter whether their question is about another contributors new contributions; or about that other contributors modification or excision of material originally contributed by yet other contributors; or about modifications or excisions of material that they themselves originally contributed. I dispute that civil, meaningful, policy-based questions I pose to you, about edits to material I originally contributed should be dismissed as a violation of WP:Ownership. Proper use of the {{Cleanup-rewrite}} tag

[edit]
  • A {{Cleanup-rewrite}} tag was added to this article almost a year ago, by a contributor who has, so far, made no effort to explain what triggered their concern. None of us are mind-readers. When contributors add tags like this, indicating they have a concern, but fail to explain their concern it leaves the reas of guessing at their concern. We will ahve no idea if their concern has been addressed by changes we have made. We will have no idea if they would think the tag can be removed.

The tag does imply that the tag placer will have explained themselves on the talk page.

I will wait a reasonable period of time. If no meaningful, substantive, policy-based explanation is offered I will feel free to remove the tag. Geo Swan (talk) 02:45, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
