Failed GA

[edit]

I'm making speedy failing for good article status. This body of this article is still empty thus it is not yet ready for GA. Please read again what is a good article. — Indon (reply) — 13:47, 6 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tidy Up / Things to Do re Present Day

[edit]

I've done a general tidy up and included new information. Things I've thought of but haven't added and/or things which need to be kept up to date are noted below.

  • Can somebody say something about the Chapel in Chapel Lane please
  • Can we keep the saga on the shopping centre up to date.
  • Can details of all the local golf clubs and sports facilities identified by the ward profile be added in a new Leisure and Recreation section.

This article has been reviewed as part of Wikipedia:WikiProject Good articles/Project quality task force in an effort to ensure all listed Good articles continue to meet the Good article criteria. In reviewing the article, I have found there are some issues that may need to be addressed.

  • The lead doesn't adequately summarise the article. : Done Nev1 13:34, 22 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • External links only belong in the external links section. : Done Nev1 16:56, 19 September 2007 (UTC) (removed both instances)[reply]
  • Image:St ambrose college.gif requires a more detailed fair use rationale. : Done I've had a go, but I'd be the first to admit that my track record of fair-use rationales etc is not good. Nev1 14:02, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • The bullet points in the religion section should be made into prose. : Done Nev1 16:56, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Please provide citations for these statements:
    • "During the 20th century urbanisation effected Hale Barns, turning the place from an agricultural village into the commuter town it is today, " : Done Nev1 16:56, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • "The 'Barns' element of Hale Barns comes from the Old Tithe Barn mentioned earlier" : Done Nev1 16:56, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • "The site is now being considered for redevelopment and proposals were subjected to consultation in 2005. In 2007 the Council and Developer will be participating in a Planning Inquiry after the council refused planning permission for the proposed redevelopment" : Done Nev1 14:14, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • "A planning inquiry into the redevelopment scheme was held at the end of March 2007 to decide what course of action Trafford council should take. The case has now been adjourned until September." : Done statement changed to one that can be verified Nev1 17:23, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • "Built 1967 on the site of St. Paul. Marriages 1968-1985 have been deposited at the Cheshire Record Office. Baptisms from 1985 are held at the church (no burials)."
    • "Hale Barns was partly in the Anglican Parish of Ringway between 1900 and 1936."
    • "The Church of England ran a Village School next to the original church up until the late 1950s. It was closed and replaced by Elmridge Primary School which was built due to the house-building on the edge of the village and associated increase in population in the late 1950s and 1960s. Elmridge Primary School is a co-educational day school with 243 pupils currently on role (2006/7 school year)." I was unable to find sources for these three statements, so they have been removed Nev1 09:38, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I will check back in no less than seven days. If progress is being made and issues are addressed, the article will remain listed as a Good article. Otherwise, it may be delisted (such a decision may be challenged through WP:GA/R). If improved after it has been delisted, it may be nominated at WP:GAC. Feel free to drop a message on my talk page if you have any questions. Regards, Epbr123 17:11, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Static image?

[edit]

What are the chances of this article getting an image into that infobox? Just had a look at geograph.com and flickr.com but had no luck. :) --Jza84 |  Talk  23:59, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I suppose the most appropriate shot would be one of the shopping square. I'll see what I can do. Nev1 (talk) 00:03, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
