Hamilton Accies Home, Watson Away

[edit]

Is there a good source of information about the "Hamilton Accies Home, Watson Away" campaign that popped up in the Hamilton South by-election, 1999? Timrollpickering 22:37, 11 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Writing Style

[edit]

This article looks like it's been copied and pasted from a club directory site. Someone needs to rewrite this, giving less useless info and more detail about club foundation, club prospects etc. -- Boothman 18:30, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mensing nationality

[edit]

There was much editwarring here over Simon Mensing's nationality, with no evidence provided by either side. Soccerbase offers no info in his nationality field: playerhistory.com says both German and English. Although a passport is a matter of public record, it is not easily verified, and would only prove that he is of the UK, not that he is English. Evidence? Kevin McE (talk) 08:03, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

He is deinitely English - born in Germany on a British Army base, Northampton Barracks - but, as you say, finding evidence is hard. GiantSnowman 17:26, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Aha, the Times has come to our rescue - it describes him as "An Englishman who was born in Germany." Regards, GiantSnowman 21:37, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hamilton F.C.

[edit]

Ive added a mention of Hamilton Football Club, a 19th century football club, who competed separately in the Scottish Cup. Would it be worth "disambiguating" this from the ain article? MacarismTalk 22:04, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Player of the year section

[edit]

Is there really a great need for this section? I notice an IP attempted to delete yesterday. Just seems a bit ad-hoc, with three random year recipients. The links to references have expired, and there doesn't seem to be a list on Accies website of yearly recipients that we could use to update the list. Thoughts appreciated. CoatbridgeChancellor (talk) 13:47, 20 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

These are standard on article; the fact that it is incomplete is not a reason to get rid, neither is the fact that links have died (see WP:WAYBACK). GiantSnowman 14:20, 20 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Seems fair enough, just wish there was a way it could be completed. CoatbridgeChancellor (talk) 15:06, 20 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You could always contact the club directly? GiantSnowman 15:16, 20 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yes good idea I might well do, when I get some time I'll try looking for a solution. Thanks for the guidance. CoatbridgeChancellor (talk) 16:44, 20 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
