Cast and characters[edit]

I suggest getting rid of the chart in the cast section, as it is really unnecessary. Most of the spaces in the chart are empty and all of that information can be conveyed without taking up all that space. Any thoughts on this? ---The Old JacobiteThe '45 13:53, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed all association of the Lecter character with the above TV series. He will not be mentioned nor appear due to franchise issues with other mediums, per Entertainment Weekly. Wyliepedia @ 05:08, 14 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

That has nothing to do with it. The Silence of the Lambs is (the most important, by far) part of this franchise, and this series has the rights to The Silence of the Lambs and is a licensed sequel to The Silence of the Lambs. The only reason that the franchise has been unofficially named after the Lecter character in particular is because he just happened to be the only one to appear in all four novels, although his role was very small at the beginning. This series takes place in the same universe. VictimOfEntropy (talk) 06:52, 14 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It’s just patently ridiculous that you would try to argue that a series which is named after and indeed based completely around the character who is the protagonist and main character of half of the novels (Clarice Starling, the only character to be the protagonist of more than one of the novels), the series which is based on the particular novel which launched the entire franchise and which everyone knows it for (which this series certainly has the rights to), is somehow not part of the franchise of these novels. I am blatantly offended that this article exists, rather than at a TSotL branch, which is where interest in the Lecter character began, nay, exploded after the 1991 film. That aside, it's fine to casually mention the Starling series here without any expansion upon there not being any mention of this article's character anywhere in said series, due to fractured franchising. Let the casual reader follow the bread crumbs down that well elsewhere. Wyliepedia @ 08:18, 14 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This article is not about the Hannibal Lecter character—that is another page, which makes no mention whatsoever of the Clarice TV series. This article is about the tetralogy of novels by Thomas Harris and every adaptation of them. VictimOfEntropy (talk) 09:17, 14 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
