Seeing as the suburb has been officially renamed Freshwater, I suggest the title of the article be changed accordingly, as well as all other references to the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 211.30.214.156 (talk) 11:18, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A new article has been created for the suburb of Freshwater, New South Wales. The article for Harbord should remain as a historical article with links to the new article. J Bar (talk) 03:22, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The discussion of the suburbs renaming should fall under a new heading. The heading of "European Settlement" is too broad with respect to the recent event. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.233.221.141 (talk) 09:23, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Redirection[edit]

I've redirected the article this article to the new Freshwater article. There is absolutely no need to have two articles for the same thing - there only needs to be one article about the subject, which touches on any other names, or previous names.

There is no need to retain articles as "historic" articles. This article is digital - it isn't an actual physical object, such as some old house from the 1800s which can have "heritage" value - and every single version of every Wikipedia article can be viewed at any time by going into the history section and looking up past edits. If somebody wants a "historic" article - they can go and find it. We don't need to preserve articles - older versions can be accessed at any time, by anyone.
