Presence[edit]

Cording had menacing Slavic features and a strong voice. He stole every scene. Finest hour? Captain Simpson in Sherlock Holmes and the House of Fear.Lestrade (talk) 12:21, 18 August 2008 (UTC)Lestrade[reply]

Height[edit]

I don't think he was 6' tall. He appeared consistently shorter than actors such as Nigel Bruce, 6 feet, and well under Rathbone 6' 1". Probably 5' 10".JohndanR (talk) 03:48, 9 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Here is Cording standing directly beside Rathbone: the disparity in height is quite distinct. "Dressed to Kill" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-N-PAsJ9pU Time: 57:32 JohndanR (talk) 04:22, 10 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Link broken. This one (Turner Classic Movies) should remain stable indefinitely: "Dressed to Kill". Cording is to the right of Rathbone. At the moment they are equidistant from the camera, Cording is visibly at least 3 inches shorter than the 6 foot 1 inch Rathbone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=psU0YDidS6o Time: 57:31 JohndanR (talk) 01:50, 20 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Birthplace England or New York[edit]

"There's a bit of a cloud surrounding the origins of character actor Harry Cording. The 1970 biographical volume The Versatiles lists his birthplace as New York City, while the exhaustive encyclopedia Who Was Who in Hollywood states that Cording was born in England." -- www.rottentomatoes.com/celebrity/harry_cording JohndanR (talk) 01:35, 20 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
