Trivia

Should there be a trivia section on this page, to list parodies and cameo appearances? For instance, in the Bugs Bunny/8 Mile parody episode of Robot Chicken, there was a clerk in a video store who looks too much like Harry Knowles to be a coincidence. - M.Neko

No, that's stupid. On wikipedia, trivia sections give cancer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.88.58.254 (talk) 19:40, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

Controversies

The article read, regarding Armageddon, Detroit Rock City and Godzilla, that "while other critics almost universally panned the films" Knowles write rave reviews about them. I removed Armageddon and Detroit Rock City as they were not even close to being "universally panned". Armageddon received 58% negative on Rotten Tomatoes (a site that weighs positive versus nagative reviews, and Rock City received 53% negative. That, in comparison to Godzilla which recived 75% negative reviews, is hardly "universally panned." AriGold 18:42, 27 July 2005 (UTC)

  • True enough, but Rotten Tomatoes' "Cream of the Crop" ratings of mostly established critics writing for major publications rates Armageddon at 88% negative. The problem with RT's overall ratings is that they compile professional critics alongside blogs, newsgroups, quote whores and studio plants, so I'm leery of using the "tomatometer" as an indication of critical consensus, at least as regards the "professional critic" community. I'm happy to let the text of the article stand as it is, though. --Misterwindupbird 21:59, 27 July 2005 (UTC)
    • Yeah, I saw that, but saying "universally, critics..." implies a larger majority of critics than just the cream of the crop I think, that's why I deleted it. AriGold 12:12, 28 July 2005 (UTC)

Photo

Is there a "better" photo of the guy? Scared the bejesus out of me, seeing him pop up on my screen, --Madchester July 9, 2005 08:36 (UTC)

    • I highly doubt it
Why is there no photo of him at all? Scary is better than nonexistent.
You pick one: Google (Ibaranoff24 05:18, 29 March 2006 (UTC))
He reminds me of Bruce Vilanch. The Wookieepedian 10:38, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

I think my picture is an improvement. :) JovBlackheart 20:03, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

Scarier? Yes. Improvement? No.

I agree to disagree. Regardless, I don't know what kind of licensing tag to attact to it, so if someone more knowledgeable can slap one on it, you can save it from possible deletion. I swiped it from a CNN article, which had "Courtesy of Ain't it Cool News" on it (which I removed in MS Paint to make it look better). Thanks! JovBlackheart 21:52, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

After two deletions of my picture due to licensing issues, I reverted it to the orginal. :( JovBlackheart 21:51, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

I took a picture with Harry in Austin on Dec. 12, 2008. It's a much better photo and I am the sole owner of the photo. Bobomejor (talk) 09:45, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

Accident

In 1994, Knowles fell while pushing a cart down a ramp at a convention, and was subsequently run over by the cart with its 1200lb load of memorabilia.
Er, if he was pushing it down a ramp, wouldn't it be below him and roll away from him? Perhaps he was backing the cart down the ramp from beneath? Or pushing a cart up a ramp? Pimlottc 16:00, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

He describes the incident in his book. Yes, he was preceeding the cart down the ramp, and tripped over a hose. While I have difficulty imagining someone of his girth being run over by a cart, that is the expression he uses. JethroElfman 04:12, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
He wasn't as large back then. He gained a lot of weight while virtually confined to bed for a year. 209.98.250.100 04:43, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

Why is he wheelchair bound?

Just as the header says, really. Is he unable to walk because of the 1994 accident or is it due to weight issues? Indiawilliams 18:02, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

He rebroke his back a few years back. 209.98.250.100 04:41, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

Wedding

Harry was alleged to have been wed last weekend, can anyone corroborate and should it be added to this wiki? --Frenkmelk talk 16:25, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

i find it hard to believe he got married —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.55.4.253 (talk) 03:15, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

Yes, he got married! See here, and there's a photo too! 76.226.77.240 (talk) 23:00, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

Controversy

I removed the final paragraph in the controversy section mainly because it was unreferenced with weasel words. I'm also going to comb through it a little more--I don't think talkbackers getting mad about an animation is necessarily notable information.--CyberGhostface (talk) 18:25, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
