I suppose this is the way it has to be in an encyclopaedia but it seems very odd to me to see all the references here to 'Goldberg did this' and 'Goldberg said that' -- because we always, everybody always, simply called him Harvey. HenryLarsen (talk) 16:11, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Good Lord, what a puff piece! And very unencyclopedic in its tone. Needs a cleanup, but I'm not touching it. Kejo13 (talk) 03:39, 11 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I agree. H.G. had so many admirers while he was alive that it would be next to impossible to get a reasonable page together. Fortunately, there is nothing insidious about this page - it's obvious that you are going to have to look elsewhere for objective information. Alexgriz (talk) 12:35, 22 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for this page. I was a student of Harvey Goldberg's in a freshman world history class at Ohio State in 1961. I have been combing my memory as to why he left Ohio State a short while later for the University of Wisconsin. I remember his addressing the class at the time, during an intense and damaging controversy at OSU that nearly finished my education and put the university on the AAUP blacklist for 10 years. I seem to remember his leaving abruptly and that his address was a kind of apologia to his students. Nothing at OSU has ever confirmed this; indeed, he was much honored there in the succeeding years. Either I had a bout of amnesia or ? Thanks for any information you can shed. Jginsbur (talk) 21:24, 5 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
