Disambiguation[edit]

The present article is about a German pilot. The biographical data in the article are about the German general Hasso von Wedel, commander of the Nazi propaganda units. The present article should be updated and a new article about the important general Hasso von Wedel should be created. --Alexander Tendler (talk) 06:37, 22 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Birth and death date in the template are wrong (from the commander, see below), the dates in persondata may be right.
I've set a template and removed the Sources of information from this article:
  • Die Propagandatruppen der Deutschen Wehrmacht. Neckargemünd, Scharnhorst Buchkameradschaft, 1962.
  • Erich Stockhorst, 5000 Köpfe. Wer war was im 3. Reich, 1967.
Both sources are for the commander of German propaganda troops (see de:Hasso von Wedel), not the pilot. Propaganda guy and pilot separated on Wikidata now. --Ivla (talk) 15:58, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
That's right. And Stockhorst isn't a valid source.
Please have a look at my stub to: Hasso von Wedel (General). -- Miraki (talk) 16:08, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, all,

Although dubious as a reliable source, the following forum sorts out a mess of von Wedels: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/15540-which-wedel-is-which/. It seems the von Wedels were a military clan with a proclivity of using similar names. This forum may serve as a helpful guide to sorting them out.

In the meantime, I will disambiguate this article to Hasso von Wedel (aviator).

Total rewrite[edit]

I have totally rewritten this article, as I found only three disjointed sentences left from the former text.Georgejdorner (talk) 09:18, 22 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
