Merge?
[edit]Obviously these refer to different versions of the same game. In fact, I wasn't even aware of the HYH? version when I posted the Animal Husbandry (game) article a half an hour ago.
If the articles are to be merged, I would suggest that we keep the title Animal Husbandry as this is after all simply a direct translation of Borsuk's original name for the game. Have You Herd? and Superfarmer are of course the names of subsequent commercial re-releases, which make seem less canonical. Hirnsäge (talk) 20:27, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
But then again, keeping the HYH article fully separate article, with a {{sequel}} tag may not be such a bad idea. Hirnsäge (talk) 20:30, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
- The HYH? article lists the rules, which seem very similar to the AH ones. Are there any non-trivial differences in gameplay, or is HYH? little more than a repackaging of the original game? If so, it doesn't really seem justified to maintain two separate articles. Hqb (talk) 20:33, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
- Yup -- although there are some minor rule modifications, e.g. 5 sheep for 1 in HYH as opposed to 6 in Borsuk's version, HYH and Superfarmer are essentially just re-brandings of the original game. That's why I propose that if they are to be merged, that this happen under an article bearing the English translation of Borsuk's original name for the game. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hirnsäge (talk • contribs) 20:41, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
- I agree; AH would probably be the better joint title. (I first suggested the other way round, based mainly on the sizes and degree of referencing of the articles at the time.) Hqb (talk) 20:45, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
- I agree that this should be merged, and that the AH title is better, although with redirects the precise title is not a matter of huge importance. I came here after seeing the AH article on new page patrol, by the way. DES (talk) 20:51, 16 August 2012 (UTC)

- I saw this pop up on the Borsuk article (which is on my watchlist). I also agree that the two should be merged with AH being the better title.VolunteerMarek 21:13, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
I agree that a merge is suitable. Which direction, however, poses an interesting question. I think the original name would be best, so I agree with VM suggestion above. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 21:58, 22 August 2012 (UTC)
The contents of the Have You Herd? page were merged into Animal Husbandry (game) on 20 June 2016 and it now redirects there. For the contribution history and old versions of the merged article please see its history. |
