I don't doubt this was a horrible place. I have a problem with the use of the word "sadistic", since it implies knowledge of the motivations of those inflicting the pain. For all we know, they may have been well-intentioned but severely misguided.

If that word alone had not been there, I wouldn't have flagged this for NPOV.

Does anybody share my concern, or am I out of line?
