Some proposed changes[edit]

Information to be added or removed:

REPLACE: HAI focuses on supporting government Ministries of Health to expand services at a national level in order to boost the overall health infrastructure of a country, and to strengthen its ability to provide sustainable sector-wide services. In Mozambique, HAI supports the Ministry of Health in building the country's HIV/AIDS treatment services. In East Timor, HAI supports the Ministry of Health to strengthen the country's maternal and newborn care services.

NEW TEXT: HAI focuses on strengthening public-sector health systems in partnership with local health authorities. HAI’s activities include establishing community-to-clinic linkages, skills-building for health providers, care integration, data systems strengthening, and building local research capacity. HAI has implemented programs to improve maternal and child health; HIV prevention, care, and treatment; tuberculosis; malaria; infectious disease; and mental health. HAI employs and trains researchers in implementation science methodology for health systems improvement.

Explanation of issue: The original text is outdated and includes inaccuracies. The replacement text draws from HAI's updated website and model, and the full portfolio of their activities from 1987 to present.
