Disappointed

[edit]

It's rare thing indeed these days to walk away from Wikipedia feeling let down. But such a basic subject as this one, to have so little basic information in it is quite astounding to me.

I'm no electrical engineer but surely even a sparky could help write this article and fill out some of the blanks! Going by the grammatical mistakes and spelling etc. this article appears to have been written as an afterthought by somebody very late at night. lol.

No offense to the author/s because anyone who adds their two cents worth to the wonderful Wikipedia 'tree of knowledge' is automatically a hero in my book regardless! All i mean is that by now surely SOMEONE might have seen fit to add to what is after all a worthwhile subject.

You see, i came here after having bought a room heater with a "Ceramic" heating element for the very first time and wanted to know how it worked. You guessed it, i left empty handed!

Someone, anyone, PLEASE HELP!

Kindest regards to all who share my passion for Wikipedia and what it means to the world at large, Walt

PS. Yes i did try various other avenues AND even tried to find any useful links but again... bubcus!!!

Temperatures

[edit]

I need to repair a heating element in a waffle maker - 3 waffles from Brand New, the spade connector on the upper element detached from the element. I'd like to know what temperature it might reach so i can select the appropriate (silver?) solder. The only temperature the article mentions is the melting point of one of the materials used to fabricate elements. Some typical operating temperatures would be useful.
