"This article needs additional citations for verification"

[edit]

This article has had an "additional citations" tag since September 2009. It now has references to virtually everything that has ever been written about the subject, and a complete list of his works. Isn't it time the tag was removed? Peter Bell (talk) 08:29, 26 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The second paragraph has no citations. http://adb.anu.edu.au/biography/holthouse-hector-le-gay-15850 has some comments attributed to named academics. What would be most interesting is an online archive of digitised Queensland newspapers of (for River of Gold) the 1870s, although we cannot claim that his novels either agree or disagree with the newspapers without attributing the claim; we could only link this as a related external link. The reliability or otherwise of those newspapers would itself need to be sourced. Boud (talk) 22:37, 23 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Some Notes on Cannibalism Among Queensland Aborigines, 1824-1900, by E. G. HEAP, B.A. might be a useful external link in relation to River of Gold. Also Cannibalism: a white colonist fiction? by Geoffrey Partington could be useful. Boud (talk) 23:06, 23 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
