hey whoever suggested that the artist trail should be cut off from the heidelberg school - I agree - they are two different issues - the heidelberg school is about the artists and their era - the trail is about municipal signage and modern tourismBebe Jumeau (talk) 14:00, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

im doing a project on the Hiedelberg school and one of the more famous painters. i chose Frederick McCubbin. i was just wondering if you could help me with abit more information...i need to know about the political and economic climate of melbourne during the 1890's and early 1900's. and also how the community perceived artists.....

'amber'

Hi Amber, there's not that much on the Wikipedia on this topic, but you could try the History of Australia, History of Victoria, and History of Melbourne for more details on the political and economic climate at the time - you'll note that Australia was quite severely impacted by an economic depression that lasted through the 1890's. As far as McCubbin himself, did you read the Wikipedia article on him?
Depending on the level of your project, however, you might be well advised to go to an actual library and get some books on the topic. I know that's a pain in the neck, but it's how a lot of us get the material to write the Wikipedia articles in the first place.--Robert Merkel 05:05, 27 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Rewrite

[edit]

I did a complete rewrite of this article, included images from associated artists articles, compiled a gallery and included information on the artists trail. Nick carson (talk) 03:14, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A holiday at Mentone

[edit]

Charles Conder A holiday at Mentone, is one of the best paintings from this school. That picture of the bush doesn't add much to the article, and has an awkward format too. I think that should be removed instead. Hafspajen (talk) 01:17, 18 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

When did it die out or end?

[edit]

I would be interested to read how the movement ended or died out or faded away and an approximate date. 2A00:23C8:9C28:9A01:542B:88EC:EAEB:E4E7 (talk) 17:16, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
