"The Nation" reference

[edit]

From "The Nation" magazine, Dec. 25, 2006 Edition found in an article titled "9/11: The Roots of Paranoia"

"In August 2003, to cite just one example, the New York dailies breathlessly reported what one US official called an "incredible triumph in the war against terrorism," the arrest of Hemant Lakhani, a supposed terrorist mastermind caught red-handed attempting to acquire a surface-to-air missile. Only later did the government admit that the "plot" consisted of an FBI informant begging Lakhani to find him a missile, while a Russian intelligence officer called up Lakhani and offered to sell him one.

If there is truth in the assertion made in the article above, it would seem to cast doubt at least on the level of objectivity in the Wikipedia article if not its validity and factualness.Joekoz451 18:58, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Big brother wants you to become a terrorist?

[edit]

If he never had a working missile, what was his crime? To be an arms dealer you have to have weapons to sell, which mock-ups and museum exhibits are not. If we allow this we are succumbing to thoughtcrime idea and oppression from the central governments and liberties will be eroded! 1984! 81.0.68.145 20:07, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
