Merge from Hemoglobin article

[edit]

I am improving this page for a class project under the supervision of Mr. Travis Bohrer (User: tbohrer74) at Waynesville High School.Countrygirl1228 (talk) 13:05, 21 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • I think that the Types of hemoglobins in humans section in hemoglobin should be moved to this article. A sentence could remain in the hemoglobin article, with the {{main|Hemoglobin variants}} template redirecting here. Cmcnicoll 00:50, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think this article should be moved to to the main hb article. This one is too small. And variants are a pretty important part of Hb.Ziphon 09:28, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Agree with Ziphon. Move this minor article (which doesn't add much) into hemoglobin article. Mmoneypenny 13:04, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Disagree. Redlink-killers and stub-stompers and short article deleters are the bane of wikipedia growth. These things are here because they need to be expanded, but somebody who knew they were important (and would be expanded in the future) didn't have time to do it at the moment. They exist meanwhile as invitations, not as perfect sleek use of Wikipedia space (as though THAT was at premium). Leave them be! Wiping them out wipes out the invitation to expand them. Of what use is a newborn baby? SBHarris 15:20, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • I strongly disagree with moving this section. I think, however, it should be duplicated and expanded in that section. I was highly disappointed to find the limited information on the variants of hemoglobin in the hemoglobin article as it is really a fundamental part of understanding hemoglobin.... There needs to be an expansion of it in the Hb article and also a separate section. UberMD 06:16, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think that this page is a repetition of the Hemoglobin since a list of variants are already presented there. Moreover, variants such as sickle cell have a page of their own. Thus, I do not think that this stub is expandable or is useful in any way. Joieko (talk) 06:37, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
