Eclipse

[edit]

There was no annular eclipse in 1792 with such a path as described by Andrews. Either this is the annular eclipse of 1791, 3 April, which starts in the region of the Northeastern US, then passing over Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Iceland to the Barents Sea and finally Northern Siberia (not touching Scotland though), or it is the annular eclipse of 1793, 5 September, starting around Hudson Bay (far north of Virginia), then passing over Greenland, Iceland, narrowly missing Scotland but passing over Shetland Islands and then towards Denmark and Eastern Europe. --Proofreader (talk) 15:05, 23 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Just checked this; he means the eclipse of 1791: [1] --Proofreader (talk) 15:07, 23 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
