The result of the proposal was move to Henry Gordon (preacher) - JPG-GR (talk) 02:48, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The title of this page is not according to WP:NCNT and WP:NCWC: No styles in titles of articles. The style "Rev." has to be removed. Demophon (talk) 21:37, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

I agree that the current title is not good. Since there are three permutations of Henry Gordon, I created Henry Gordon (disambiguation) and hatnote linked it from Rev. Henry Gordon. The situation is probably OK with just hatnotes since the Reverend is the only person called just "Henry Gordon" but you and others can decide whether Henry Gordon should be the dab page or the Reverend. — AjaxSmack 16:12, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Agree. I think this page should be "Henry Gordon", all the others have an extra initial or given name. Demophon (talk) 17:03, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Weak Oppose. I think dropping the "Rev." may create ambiguity problems, as there are several other people who may reasonably be called "Henry Gordon" and this Henry Gordon is not so notable as to eliminate all doubt. Wilhelm meis (talk) 03:40, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think this is really the case here, since there is only one "C. Henry Gordon", one "Henry C. Gordon" and one reall "Henry Gordon". However if the majority do share your opinion, than it should be done by the rules. "Rev" in the title is against the WP:MOSBIO guidelines. Then we whould do it by the guidelines: for example, behind the name the denomination "Preacher" between curved brackets or something else. Demophon (talk) 08:21, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This is a close one. C. Henry Gordon seems to always have the initial in his movie credits but Henry C. Gordon is often called simply "Henry Gordon" in sources. Maybe Henry Gordon (preacher) for this one wouldn't be a bad idea. — AjaxSmack 19:11, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I could get behind that. My only concern here is disambiguation, and Henry Gordon (preacher) seems to satisfy all naming conventions. Note also that Henry Gordon currently redirects to Henry C. Gordon. Wilhelm meis (talk) 19:29, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Where is Georgetown?[edit]

Something's missing here. There are two places in Illinois named Georgetown, neither of which is near Campbell Hill or Steeleville. The external link noted at the end of the article is now dead. Anybody have more information? --Ken Gallager (talk) 13:46, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
