The page says that Witham was a founder member of "The Royal Geological Society"... and that is an orphan link.

I assumed that the RGS must have a page, went looking.

Found...

... which says two things...

a) "It received its Royal Charter on April 23 1825...", so I imagine this is the society that the writer of the Witham article was thinking of

but,

b) It also lists alleged founder members without listing Witham....

So....?.... Can anyone clear up the contraditions?
